Energy Bites Recipe

Energy bites are a great snack you can make with your family that can help you unlock food’s potential to fuel and to discover. They are a packed full of protein and fibre, which will help you stay energized throughout the day, and can be made with a wide variety of ingredients making them the perfect personalized on-the-go snack.


This recipe is adapted from The Real Food Dietitians (https://therealfoodrds.com/trail-mix-energy-bites/):

Makes 22 balls

  • 1 ½ cups oats

  • 1 cup nut butter

  • 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Filling: 2/3 cup mixture of dried fruit + chopped nuts/seeds (dates, cranberries, coconut, raisins, almonds, walnuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds, ground flaxseed, etc)

Mix oats, nut butter, syrup, and vanilla in a bowl. Mix other ingredients and form into small balls. Store in the fridge to preserve freshness.
